Submission of Passport Applications through postal system.

     As per extant rules, Indian nationals are required to submit filled-in passport application forms (for new/renewal of passports) in person at the Consulate General of India in Guangzhou for further processing. However, the ongoing strict Covid-19 pandemic-related travel restrictions in China continue to pose a challenge to Indian nationals to travel to Guangzhou to submit their passport applications in person at the Consulate. Considering these difficulties, the Consulate has decided to accept passport applications through postal system w.e.f. 1 September 2022. Accordingly, Indian nationals who wish to avail postal submission of passport applications may follow the steps below:


2.   It may be noted that while the postal acceptance of passport applications will be rolled out w.e.f. 1 September 2022, the current system of in person submission of passport applications at the Consulate will also continue in parallel. Indian nationals may accordingly opt for either of the services. Those wanting to visit the Consulate for passport services may please book appointment in advance at this link https://www.cgiguangzhou.gov.in/schedule-appointment. Consulate will be not responsible for any damage or loss to the original documents during the movement of documents viapost/courier.
