Celebrations of Ayurveda Day 2024 by Consulate General of India, Guangzhou

The Consulate General of India, Guangzhou organized a special event ‘Experience Ayurveda’ on the theme ‘Ayurveda Innovation for Global Health’ to commemorate the 9th Ayurveda Day on 29 October 2024.

2. The event saw participation from the Members of Diplomatic Corps, Members of Indian Diaspora & Friends of India. The event commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki, Mrs Suma Hakki, a representative from the Indian community in Guangzhou Shri Mohan Mulchandani as well as the representatives from the partnering organizations – Brahma Kumari Sister Sapna from Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, GuangzhouDr CK Shafeeque and Dr Dane Shafeeque from Dr CK Ayurveda Centre Guangzhou; Dr Neethu from Parma Eco Valley Ayurveda Resort; Dr Mohanakrishnan Menon, Innate Ayurveda (Shenzhen); Ms Karen Lee and CEO of Indian Company Wipro Consumer Care China Ltd. The ‘Dhanwantari Mantra’, invoking Lord Dhanwantari, the deity of Ayurveda, was also played during the lighting of the lamp ceremony.

3. Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki delivered Keynote Address during the celebrations of the 9th Ayurveda Day, highlighting the significance of Ayurveda and the activities being undertaken by the Consulate for the promotion of Ayurveda in South China.

4. This was followed by a reflective ‘Mindfulness Meditation Session’ conducted by BK Sapna from the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. Experienced Indian Ayurveda Experts also conducted the lectures on various themes of Ayurveda. Ms Amy, a representative from the Parma Eco valley showed an introduction video and presentation on the activities undertaken by their institute for the promotion of Ayurveda and Yoga. Following this, Dr CK Shafeeque, an Ayurveda Practitioner from India gave a lecture and practical demonstration on ‘Abhyanga- Art of Oil Massage for Holistic Wellness in Ayurveda’. A distinguished Ayurveda Expert Dr Dane Shafeeque gave an insightful lecture and presentation on ‘Ayurveda and Women’s Health’. This was followed by a lecture on ‘Keraleeya Panchkarma: Kerala’s contribution to Global Health’ by Dr Mohanakrishnan Menon from Innate Ayurveda (Shenzhen).

5. During the event, ‘Experience Ayurveda Booths' were also set up by the partnering Ayurveda Institutes as well as Brahma Kumaris and Indian Company Wipro, for exhibiting Ayurveda and herbal products, as well as conducting interactive sessions with the participants.
