Subject: Celebrations of the 78th Independence Day of India by the Consulate General of India, Guangzhou.
The Consulate General of India, Guangzhou organized a Flag Hoisting Ceremony to commemorate the 78th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2024. More than 150 Indian diaspora members and friends of India attended the event.
2. Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki hoisted the tricolor at the Consulate premises and read the Hon'ble President's speech to the gathering.
3. The Independence Day celebrations also saw a vibrant display of Indian culture by the members of Indian diaspora, including songs, speeches and dance performances.
4. The Consulate General of India, Guangzhou also observed the Partition Horrors Rememberance Day on 14 August. Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki, in presence of Indian diaspora and Consulate officials, inaugurated the digital exhibition on the "Horrors of Partition". The Exhibition was also kept open for the Indian Diaspora and Friends of India on 15 August for the Independence day Ceremony.
